2008 planned events. The beginning of Modern Israel’s 60^th Year of Statehood. *

January - Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia and Malta set to adopt the Euro. Slovenia will start the presidency of European Union as the first of new member states. Constitution adopted!
February 7 – ‘Annular’ (i.e. partial) solar eclipse.
February 29^th Friday– Leap year day. (An opportunity for a love offering in a day of prayer & fasting?) Barnabas Fellowship asks prayer for a new building (in Syria) for Iraqi Christians!
March 2^nd –Russian Presidential Elections! Putin has already named his successor – so guess who’ll get the job? His name is DMITRY MEDVEDEN –an old buddy of Putin’s.
March 14^th, Iranian Parliamentary elections.
March 21^st – Celebration of Purim, when God sovereignly preserved Jews in Persia/Iran!
March 21^st ’Good Friday’, will be the earliest date in the year for Christians’ ‘Easter’, for 95 years.
March, Sunday 23^rd – Yeshua/ Jesus’ Resurrection day! Hallelujah!
March - 2008 Presidential election to be held in Taiwan, crucial for relationship plans with China that does not recognise Taiwan’s sovereignty. Party elections ‘08 indicated no China ties wanted.
April 20^th – 1^st day of Pasach/ Passover, when we remember Yeshua’s great sacrifice for us.
Then 8 Days of ‘Unleavened bread’. A disciplined reminder of Israel ‘exit-ing’ Egypt suddenly.
April 23, the 3^rd day in this week is; (like a sample of Harvest) called - ‘First fruits’ = Resurrection!
April - Rastafarians believe that Haile Selassie (one Emperor of Ethiopia, & revered leader of this religious sect), will be resurrected due to the belief that he will rise after 33.3 years.
May 8^th-14^th By Gregorian Calander] official Celebration Day, ANNIVERSARY OF THE MODERN *STATE OF ERETZ ISRA’EL! ‘Yom Ha’atma’ut’ is the Hebrew name of the day.
Many celebrations are planned in Israel for this special year, Pres. Bush to visit in May.

August 1 - Total solar eclipse. [Moon hides the sun during the day for about an hour.]
August 8^th – 24^th, [8^th day, 8^th month 08^th yr], The 29^th OLYMPIC GAMES in Beijing, CHINA. Please pray for Chinese Christians, Athletes & visitors with a desire to share Jesus.
New Euro bank notes to be issued with a more complete map, incl. Cyprus.
September, Tuesday 30^th ~ ‘Rosh Hashannah’ – ‘Feast of Trumpets’ = call to repentance…
Then 9 Days of Awe ~ spiritual mourning & a desire to have one’s name ‘in the Book of Life’.
October 1^st, USA will collapse before this date according to Nostradamus. God knows more!
October 5^th, (1^st Sunday). ~ A call to Christians, worldwide to PRAY FOR JERUSALEM.
October 9^th, YOM KIPPUR, (10^th day of mourning) & remembrance of the ATONEMENT Day ~

Sacrifices made by the High Priest. Another day for prayer & fasting for Israel, by Christians.
October 14^th, Tuesday, First of 8 days celebration of ‘Sukkot’ ~ Feast of Tabernacles. (Huts)

ICEJ Feast of Tabernacles Sukkot Celebrations, plus other groups, & local Jews.
November 4^th – Election of the next (44^th) President of USA. [Psalm 75: 1 –7 but see 8 & 9!!!]
The Iranian President is keen to see developments –his way – by years end. [He WANTS war!] Strangely he respected Bush for staying the course in Iraq & feels he will be able to manipulate the next President, better! We’ll see what the God of Israel, allows!
November 15^th, N.Z. General Election on or before this date – as set by Labour Gov’t.
Hanukah, 8 days of lighting candles in sequence, to recall cleansing & rededication of Temple.
Israel would like to have a settlement of its plans, defined borders, completed Security Fence, & reduced numbers of illegal settlements by 2008 – or 2010. [But this may be at great ‘cost’]
King Abdullah II of Jordan believes the years – to 2008/9 are crucial for finding a Middle East solution to the Israeli/ Palestinian situation. Iran is talking about 2 years also; just as Bush leaves office, to cause the world war, he believes will bring the Madji/Mahdi to lead Islam. [However we believe God’s Plans are for Israel to have a few years of false peace, & securing the wealth.]
Dec. 9 –12 ‘Global Potato Congress’ –[Yr of Potato] Yes! & next year will be in New Zealand!
December 25^th, rememberance of the coming of Yeshua/ God’s Son to Earth, by His incarnation as a human!

2009 The year few people are talking about, except for inauguration of new USA President.

Beyond 2010.

Qatar has established 2 funds of $2 Bln for scientific research in the Arab world, especially in technology & medicine. $300 Mln will be for ‘A Well of Knowledge’ for the Arab world by 2010.
Israel hopes to have full control of the Temple Mount by 2010.
China is expected to eclipse USA economically & become the world’s next super power, by 2045.
Turkey & Israel are proposing a joint ‘pipeline’ to bring gas, oil, water and electricity to Israel (& maybe Jordan & ‘Palestine’) by 2010. If this is GOD’s will it could be a great blessing…[Other factors of possible war & earthquakes make us wonder about this.] *
The estimate of Bible Translators for making at least some part of the Bible available to every group is by 2025. [Never forget to pray for this ministry!]
Some scientific researchers, taking population trends, oil & food supplies, global warming, & other factors, predict the world could end by 2025.

Our only desire, as we have stated is to do as Jesus said in Luke 21, so we have a desire to see things where we can, from His perspectives as shown in the Word of God. This is so that we can prepare each other to stay true to our God through every circumstance, PRAYING for each event & its effects &
GOD’s GLORY ALONE!

Jesus said, as reported in Luke 21, “When you see these things happening you know that the Kingdom of God is near. Be careful… that Day does not close on you unexpectedly… Be always on the WATCH…”
