‘THE GETHSEMANE OLIVET FELLOWSHIP’.



WHO WE ARE.

‘The Gethsemane Olivet Fellowship’ is a Christian Fellowship of Believers in the complete Word of God, in the Bible. We are based in New Zealand, and work together as a small group with the same passions; which include a longing for the final Return of Jesus Messiah to Earth, and our being united forever with Him.

However we believe in the 'Gethsemane' (literally the olive press), experiences of sufferings in the Earthly life of Jesus of Nazareth. For all His Followers, there is also a path of suffering. But the joyful and certain hope we have for all true Believers in Him, is of His Second Coming to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, Israel. Because we accept that the whole Bible is Jewish, written by Hebrew/ Jewish writers, and that Jesus/ Yeshua was & is Jewish, and that God’s End Time plans are clearly related to their experiences, (which will result in great spiritual & other blessings), in these ‘last days’, we refer consistently to these facts. [See Romans chapter 11.]

God also has great plans of blessing for the entire world, through Jewish and non-Jewish peoples of the Middle East. [Isaiah 19:23 –25.]

In order to be accountable, we have a Bank account under the name of the ‘Gethsemane Olivet Fellowship’ - shortened for convenience to ‘G.O.Fellowship’ and it is by the unselfish giving of our friends that we can minister to others.

SCRIPTURE TRANSLATIONS WE USE.

These are mainly the New International Version (N.I.V) of the Bible, & The Jewish New Testament, (J.N.T. by Dr David H. Stern of Jerusalem). We believe we are blessed to have many carefully translated versions of the Scriptures in English, to compare. We believe they are based on careful preserved copies of the original, unchanged Hebrew & Aramaic of the Tanakh/ O.T., & the Greek New Testament. It’s worth noting the Hebrew Bible was translated into Greek 250 B.C. by Jewish Scholars, probably the first ‘translation’ of the Bible.

OUR RESPONSE TO GOD & OUR ATTITUDE TO YOU.

Nothing in any of our articles is presented in a dogmatic way, but as a basis for your own study and prayer. The responsibility of those who share a word wrongly, or outside of Scripture is severe. But we feel it is important in some cases to give our honest prayerful understanding even if it is different from some others. May the LORD bless your reading, as well as our writing!
