HOW WE PRESENT OUR STUDIES.
Out of our respect for the one and only, unique Scriptures, that we believe are "The Word Of God" we use bold, italic, purple print, in quotations, to honour our LORD God.

1. For us, this means the first main section: was written by mainly  Hebrew/ Jewish people, for Jewish People, before BCE 400 years. It is called the 'Old Testament', (or 'Covenant'), but  also called the 'Tanakh', containing the first five books called 'the Torah'. It is specifically accepted by Believing Jewish people as the "Word of God."

2. The second main part is called: 'The New Testament', or 'B'rit Chadashah', written in the first 100 years after AD [Anno Domino] - or B.E. - 'The Common Era' by Jewish people. It is because of these facts and the re-establishment of the literal: Erez Isra'el/ Land [and nation of Israel] that we write also for Jewish people.

WHO WE ARE.
‘The Gethsemane Olivet Fellowship’ is a Christian/ Messianic Fellowship of Believers in the complete Word of God, in the Holy Bible. We are based in New Zealand, and work together as a group with the same passions; which include a longing for the final Return of Jesus / Yeshua [Hb] ha Meshiach ~ the Messiah; to this renewed Earth, and our being united with Him in our resurrected bodies. First, this will be for 1,000 years (as Revelation 20 indicates); after that, in Eternity forever!

[Note: we use a capital for "Earth" since we believe it is the most special, carefully designed Planet, and created by the "Most High God" for all Human Beings. At one future point in Time, it will be replaced by "a new Heaven and a new Earth". Revelation 21:1.]

OUR NAME:
However we believe in the 'Gethsemane' (literally 'the olive press'), experiences of sufferings in the Earthly life of Jesus of Nazareth. For all His Followers, there is also a path of suffering, during our Earthly lives. But the second word is  'Olivet', for the joyful and certain hope we have (for all true Believers in Jesus), for His Second Coming to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, Israel. We accept that the whole Bible is Jewish, written by Hebrew/ Jewish writers, and that Jesus/ Yeshua was and is Jewish. and that God’s 'Last Days'  Plans are clearly related to their experiences, (which will result in great spiritual and other blessings), in these ‘Last Days’, [used about 7 times in Scripture - 2 Peter 3:3], we refer consistently to these facts, [as in Romans ch. 11.]

OUR HOPE: THE GOSPEL SOON MADE KNOWN WORLD-WIDE!
God also has great plans of blessing for the entire world, through Jewish and non-Jewish peoples of the Middle East. [Isaiah 19:23 –25.]

TO BE BUSINESS-LIKE AND GENEROUS.
In order to be accountable, we have a Bank account under the name of the ‘Gethsemane Olivet Fellowship’ - shortened for convenience to ‘G.O.Fellowship’ and it is by the unselfish giving of our friends that we can minister to others, and remain non-profit.

SCRIPTURE TRANSLATIONS WE USE.
These are mainly the 1985 New International Version (N.I.V) of the Bible, and often, The Jewish New Testament, (J.N.T. by Dr David H. Stern of Jerusalem). We believe we are blessed to have some carefully translated versions of the Scriptures in English, to compare. However while we believe the earlier versions were based on carefully preserved copies of the original, unchanged Hebrew and Aramaic of the Tanakh/ O.T., and the Greek New Testament; more recent versions are undergoing many changes [even the N.I.V.] since the original publishing Company was sold to another. This is why we give the date 1984/85.

THE VERY FIRST TRANSLATION OF THE HEBREW TANAKH, BCE.
It’s worth noting the Hebrew Bible was translated into Greek 250 B.C. by Jewish Scholars, probably the first ‘translation’ of the Bible. The very first Latin, Greek and English translations, used the earlier versions.

OUR RESPONSE TO GOD AND OUR ATTITUDE TO YOU.
Nothing in any of our articles is presented in a dogmatic way, but as a basis for your own study and prayer. [Yes! They are mainly studies to encourage careful thinking!] The responsibility of those who share a word wrongly, or outside of Scripture is severe. But we feel it is important in some cases to give our honest prayerful understandings ~ even if it is different from some others. May the LORD bless your reading, as well as our writing!

OUR GREATEST PRAYER.
This is that God would be glorified and that some people, like you who read this, will be blessed! "May our LORD Yeshua/Jesus the Messiah Himself, and God our Father, Who has loved us and by His grace given us eternal comfort and a good Hope, comfort your hearts, and strengthen you in every good word and deed!"
